4 Time-Tested Ways to Save Big Money Around Town!

For years, I have saved boatloads of money in my backyard and across my hometown with these four money-saving ideas:

ValPak®
Your local town calendar, town planner, or town newspaper
Clipper magazine®; and
Local Flavor.

Let’s get to it!

1. ValPak® sends an envelope via U.S. Postal Service – yeah, snail mail.

You’ll find a dozen or two coupons for all sorts of merchants including some of my favorite restaurants.

The recent pak contained discount coupons for:

Chase Bank – “Open a Total Checking® account and receive a $300 bonus.
Wells Fargo Bank – “New Wells Fargo checking account customers can get $325 – a bonus for opening a new account.
Wendy’s – a whole bunch of coupons including a few Buy One Get One FREE (BOGO).
Liquor Pantry – In-store discount: 16% OFF Wine by the Case; and 10% OFF Wine & Spirits Purchase.
Wayfair® furniture – 10% OFF for first-time shoppers. And not to overlook
A coupon offered by my favorite local Mexican Restaurant – $5 off a $25 bill; and $10 off a $50 bill. Despite my ongoing quest to save money, I can’t bring myself to use the coupons since I go there almost every week. . .

2. Your local town calendar, planner or newspaper

A local publisher publishes a Town Planner®, which is a calendar with coupons around the edges – the periphery.

Filled with coupons at merchants, coupons at stores, and coupons at restaurants.

$5 off any purchase of $25 or more at the local hardware store
10% off at the local toy store
49₵ per pound on Paper Shredding at the local office supply store and shipping center. I’ve seen shredding at $1 per pound. This merchant also offers 2 Months of FREE Mailbox Rental
And much more.

3. Clipper magazine® and its online cousin LocalFlavor.com.

Clipper magazine® arrives in your mailbox – U.S. Postal Service every month or two.

And it’s Loaded with coupons!

One local diner offered: 10% off the Entire Check dine-in only; and 15% off the Entire check (during the off hours)
